Biography: Born and raised in Northern California, Isaac Bluefoot is a life long artist. Self educated in visual arts since he could hold a paintbrush, Isaac initially showed enormous focus in color, composition, and figure. He later became enraptured with animation as a child nearly to the point of obsession, an interest that still remains yet has fallen background to his passion for comics and storytelling. Isaac Bluefoot’s formal education in the fine arts began in Sally Wolfers art class at Berkeley High School, where the environment was rich in inspiration and freedom to explore many media and style. Yet after completing high school Isaac’s education truly began with his Chaos Study of organic rhythm, which became a nearly constant state of meditation over the course of two years and has been essential for Isaac in forming his rich way of seeing and describing the world. It was during this exciting chapter in Isaac’s education that he became challenged by breaking his wrist and requiring reconstructive surgery, a process that took over a year to go through and recover from. Yet in rising from these dark times Isaac began his telling of the epic Legends of Shava, now in it’s tenth year of development. After three years independent study including temporarily learning to use right hand, Isaac returned to formal learning again at CCAC, the California College of Arts and Crafts. There he spent a year and a half studying painting, drawing, and film(to feed his storytelling fuel). Yet again he sought alternative education over the coarse seven years as he became a father of two and had much to learn from his children. During this time he began to formalize his study of the Legends of Shava into the School of the Dragon Flower. Now he has returned to his art studies at Humboldt State University, combining their solid graphic design program with their talented painting and drawing instruction to prepare in the telling of his future epic works.
